The Future is Odd

A long time ago I decided to review Radical by OFWGKTA but never got around to making my notes into fully formed sentences and as the time has past for any timely uses of reference I decided to post my jumble of thoughts.

Enjoy...

Odd Future Wolfgang Kill Them All [OFWGKTA/Odd Future] - Radical

heavy bass surrounds you from all directions. often hitting hard on a beat and then fading out only to come back steady. death march drumming. to say the lyrics are violent would be an understatement. encouraging kids to rebel and indulge in mindless violence. essence of nihilism. irony that the rappers are all 17-24. angry about lack of representation for own issues and don't have any qualms about letting people know. no one else is doing it. voice of generation? it's the odd future show. dark music videos and skits. upfront with their feelings about the world they've been born into. angst of young people who are beginning to fully realize the messed up state of the world. these aren't the hedonistic rappers of the late 90's and early 2000's, if they rap about drinking or indulging it's in order to get to a messed up state of mind of anarchy and apathy. all the thoughts your parent's don't want to know you have.
